I love the idea - I bought it because both my teenagers were having a hard time following a clock and I was tired at yelling at them to get out of the shower after 30 minutes. I programmed the timer for 15 minutes, thinking I would decrease the time 1 minute at a time as they adjusted - but I did find out that my 16yo was using the tub to heat the water (which is not monitored by the shower wizard) - so now I have cut the time down to 12minutes. The instructions I received with the product for re-setting the programmed times was inaccurate, but the info googled online did work. (you don't need the arrows, I think it's the * on the remote that actually adjusts the time).

Works really well! It was difficult to set up because the button wasn’t paired to the valve assembly, but once I got instructions to pair them it worked as expected. Got my son to stop taking 60 minute showers!

We put the buttons by the master bedroom. In the beginning it was a lot of grunting, now it's more of a game since they have to run down a hallway and maximize every second they can get LOL. I had the previous model with the big round button attached to a cord and it worked but not that well with 4 kids using it. This newer model seems to be working well! I love it, we have a smaller water heater and all of my kids would use up the entire tank themselves if they could! This really helps control the water usage.

Instead of using up the allotted time limit, I've found in our instance that they both will take a necessary shower and turn it off EARLY (before the timer expires) because they know mentally that the timer is on a hard stop. So happy with this purchase. Got my son down to 10 minutes in the shower from 45 minutes+. This thing actually works better than advertised. There are a few nice little features that I didn't see advertised. First it shuts the water off for about a half second then back on as part of the 1 minute warning, which is good if you aren't watching the light. Second, it let's you set the lockout time. I was a little worried my son would just wait out the preprogrammed 5 minute lockout so I upped it to 10 minutes. I've had it for about 6 weeks so far and the battery is still on original charge. Great product!

When I connected the device, I had a leak at the rubber grommet by the extension (no fault of the product). I replaced the existing corroded extension with a new one with nice smooth edges ($10 at Home Depot) and problem solved. I'm not sure how many customers have 30-year-old plumbing hardware, but maybe planning on replacing the existing extension while you have everything apart will save you a little time and hassle. Customer support is great.

I was very skeptical when ordering the shower wizard but it has been life changing. Our issue is a teenager that was taking too long of showers. This has eliminated the arguments and banging of bathroom doors. The only downside is keeping track of when to charge it but that is a very small issue considering how well it works.

My daughter turns on the shower and then sits on the toilet and just leaves the water running. Sometimes she'll get up and walk out of the bathroom and go to sleep and still leaves the shower running.
So much steam in moisture built up in the bathroom that is starting to get black mold in the walls downstairs.
Nothing would work to get her to stop doing this. I purchased the shower wizard and lo and behold the problem is now solved. There is no more steam build up or water all over the walls and floors because she has 8 minutes to take that shower and quickly has adjusted to just taking that long. I was getting PTSD always discovering it's running or wondering if it is and all of those problems are now gone. All of the moisture in the walls has dried up and gone away and I could not be more pleased with this product. It was a very quick and simple installation. It's actually quite ingenious and I highly recommend it. If you're on the fence about getting this you will not regret it.

I was almost scared to purchase this at first, but when my husband installed it and said, "the Shower Wizard for the win", I knew I had made the right purchase. Had some time to review the shower wizard. Kids will be Kids and find a way around every obstacle. First, waiting for the timer to reset and continue showing. So I set the reset time for 60 minutes. They just get back in the shower in one hour to continue. I set the timer to max 99 minutes, and now they take a Shower-Bath! filling and utilizing the tub to take an even longer time in the bath and using even more water. With all that said, the Shower wizard works perfectly! My kids have just outsmarted it.

This thing is awesome! Our 2 older kids were taking way too long in the shower. We tried "asking" them to keep it at 10 minutes but neither would comply consistently. At first, we would time them ourselves and then just go shut off the valve of the hot water heater after 10 minutes, but since we are not always here and also do not always hear the one in the basement get in, we decided to look online for something. My wife found the shower wizard and ironically enough, about 99% of the reviews were about the kids taking too long! We decided to get 2 (one for each of their showers) and man they are GREAT! Such a relief to not have to worry about how long they are in there. We set it at 10 minutes and then set the delay for 90 minutes so they can't turn it right back on. I told them it resets every day so they are not tempted to take another shower later. I HIGHLY recommend this thing if you want to save a lot of headache and useless discussions. Oh, and MONEY of course! Even though they were about $100, it was still cheaper than other options, and simpler. Also, when I ordered it, I could not figure out how to order 2 at the same time so I had to put them in separately, but I am glad because after the first purchase, they sent me a 10% discount code so I got the 2nd one for 10% off!

As a parent I know what you’re thinking. Kids are killing my water bill, the gas/electric bill to heat the water and the wear and tear it puts on your water heater. So you go onto google and see whats out there. This product is amazing and you don't have to search anymore. My two daughters have always been respectful of not just leaving the water running. Now my son thinks he needs an hour to shower and runs the water the whole time. Then try's to justify it by saying it takes that long to get clean. Now he is under 10 min and who would have guessed he still feels clean. Installation super easy. The only minor con is the controller kinda wished it had a led screen so you could see your changes as you make them. But it is a minor con because once you get use to it and figure it out then it’s not a problem. You easily and quickly make your money back from the savings per month.

I think my son actually benefits from having the structure and rigidity of knowing that 10 minutes means exactly that...10 minutes. He's been fairly upbeat and positive about using this device. I am therefore, chalking it up as a win/win for us. Maintaining a charge capability is a bit cumbersome, but it's worth it. Perhaps a version with swappable rechargable batteries could come along in a future version. Either way, thank you for developing this device.

What with the waste of precious water and deeping climate crisis, these things should be mandatory. Also, if you have teenagers in your house, this thing is a must. The new version is a big improvement on the last version (we had two of those). It is much easier to program, better design and ditching the wire connection is a great improvement. This is the easier thing to install and set up. I purchased 2 of these and had them installed in less than 5 minutes total. As a mom with 5 teens at home and a tankless water heater, I needed something to stop several of my kids from having 1 hour showers everyday. Even worse, we are on septic and it cannot handle the amount of water. This is going to be such a win for my sanity. I gave them 10 minutes which is a nice shower and 10 min shut off so no one is tempted to wait out a few minutes and go again.

I have a son with severe autism who loves taking showers that last hours. We'll eventually move to the desert and this isn't a good lifelong pattern for him. Oh. My. God. I SO WISH I knew about this product 10 years ago. This thing is brilliant. BRILLIANT! We have three sons - a 17 year old, who takes HOUR LONG SHOWERS. And 11 year old twins. One who take 30 second showers (and gets out of the shower still dirty) and the other is like his older brother and takes HOUR LONG SHOWERS. We are SO TIRED of yelling and talking, and showing them water and electric bills, and talking about our families' septic systems when we're visiting family - to no avail. This product is SO BRILLIANT. We set the timer for 6 minutes. So our two kids are now forced to reduce their showers by at least 40 minutes. And we told our other kid that he HAS to stay in the shower until the timer goes off. So that kiddo actually gets clean :) I am telling everyone I know about this product. No more yelling, no more anger. My husband also installed this in such a way so that our teenager won't be able to figure out how to take it apart. He really locked in the shower wizard so he needs a special wrench to undo it. Our teen will never figure out how to get around this. LOVE IT!

This little device is the best thing. My adult son has OCD and has had a really hard time limiting the length of his showers. The water bill was so high!!! This is an excellent product and I believe there is a special place in heaven for the inventor. My 15yo was taking super long showers. He gets home late from soccer practice and we go to bed before him, only to not be able to fall asleep because of the shower running and the light under the door shines into our room. My husband would have to get up angry and go pound on the door after 30-40 min long showers. Who knows how long he goes when we are not home. The shower wizard was very easy to install and is simple and easy to use. I think the hose connection on my shower has BSP 1/2" thread and connects to the shower wizard valve without any leak. I got this to help my kids take shorter showers. We tried the "push the button every 30 seconds to keep the shower running" mode and currently have it set for the maximum time of 14 minutes but I think my son who is a bit stubborn sometimes waits the 5 minutes when the valve is disabled to take a second shower so it might be helpful to have the option to set a longer delay in between showers. My daughter is more respectful of the time limit. Both kids were able to figure out how to use it very easily. The 1 minute warning color change at the end is helpful but again I think having the option to set this a bit longer would be useful. I put a timer in the shower along with the shower wizard so my kids can see more clearly how much time they have left.
