Pottymiser Instruction Manual

Installation (See diagram for additional detail)

1. Turn water off at the shutoff valve behind toilet or with the house main.

2. Disconnect the supply line where it connects to the fill valve stub under the tank.

3. Hand tighten POTTYMISER® valve to the fill valve stub and reconnect the supply line to the POTTYMISER® valve. Hand -tighten only, or these connections will leak.

4. Turn the water back on.

5. Before testing the POTTYMISER® you must install the batteries.  Install batteries from the bottom of the unit. As a self- test, upon battery installation, the dome will flash red, green, blue, then flash white then the valve will open and close 2 times. The self test lets you know the device is working correctly.

6. Place the POTTYMISER® dome assembly on top of the tank or hang on the wall using included Velcro, pin, or screw.

A few words about the POTTYMISER® and its operation:

The POTTYMISER® operates on 4 AA batteries which will last 1year with normal use. As the batteries near the end of their life, 3 white flashes will be added to the normal flash sequence when starting a fill cycle. Seeing this low battery light indication tells you it is time for new batteries. Should the batteries fall below the next preset level the tank will not fill and the toilet will not flush. At this “low battery level” the dome will flash white until the batteries are replaced.

Directions for daily use of your POTTYMISER®

1.) Before using the toilet press the POTTYMISER dome to start a fill cycle, press once for a normal fill.  Twice if set up for dual flush application.

*To adjust fill time, read setting modes in the “extended instructions for administrator”. (Factory set for 1 minute)

2.) While you complete your toilet use, the tank will fill. When finished, flush normally.

IT IS AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!

Note: Never remove the batteries while the device is activated, this may damage the device.

Extended instructions for Administrators:

Instructions for cycle count & mode indication

The cycle count feature gives the administrator a way to track if the product is being used correctly; it stores the number of times product has been activated. In addition to the cycle count, this function displays the present mode setting. To display the cycle count, press and hold the dome/button for 3 seconds and a color code will be displayed as a series of color-coded flashes (see color code below). Count the number of times each color flashes and then, using the color code you can decode the number. To know the present mode setting see *Note below.

3 quick steps for cycle count:

  1. The product must have the batteries installed, and be at rest, not mid cycle.
  2. Press and hold the dome/button for 3 seconds to start the cycle count readout.
  3. A series of color-coded flashes will begin, starting with the most significant digit. A different color represents each of 5 places for a count, up to 99,999 cycles. (Examples below)

Cycle count & mode color code

  • 10,000's   Magenta.
  • 1,000’s     Yellow.
  • 100's        Blue.
  • 10's          Green.
  • 1's            Red.
  • Mode       White (from 1 to 6 flashes)

        Example (1)    1 blue, 3 green, 9 red & 4 white = 100 + 30 + 9 = 139 cycle count in mode 4.

        Example (2)    1 yellow, 5 green, 3 red, & 1 white =1,053 cycle count in mode         Example (3)    2 magenta, 5 yellow, 3 blue, 2 green, 9 red & 6 white =25,329 cycle count in mode 6.

* Note: at the end of the color-coded flashes there will be 1 to 6 white flashes. The number of white flashes indicates what mode the product is set to; modes are discussed at “instructions for mode selection”.

FOR POTTYMISER®

  • 1 white flash     = 30     seconds mode (1)
  • 2 white flashes = 60     seconds mode (2)
  • 3 white flashes = 90     seconds mode (3)
  • 4 white flashes = 120   seconds mode (4)
  • 5 white flashes = 5       minutes mode (5)
  • 6 white flashes = 15      minutes mode (6)

Instructions for mode selection

The mode selection feature gives the administrator a way to change the toilet or shower cycle time to 1 of 6 settings.

*POTTYMISER® modes are 30, 60, 90, 120 seconds and 5, 15 minutes. For a POTTYMISER®.  The mode will already be set to 60 seconds, “mode (2)’ no need to do anything unless you want more or less time.

*The mode switch has been intentionally hidden to prevent unauthorized access. To change the mode, you will need to locate the mode switch access hole on the bottom center of the dome assembly.  The mode switch can be pressed using a paperclip inserted straight up through the pinhole.  To set a mode you must press and hold the mode switch for 1 second; this will start a series of 6 color flashes. Red (1), green (2), blue (3), yellow (4), magenta (5), teal (6).

*Changing the mode is simple once you understand that there are 2 switches, the dome switch, and the mode switch. Both switches are required to change modes. Upon the press/hold and release of the mode switch a series of colors will flash; each color will appear and pause for 3 seconds. When the color corresponding to the mode you want appears, press the dome/switch. Once a mode is set, it’s permanent but may be changed at any time by the administrator.

Quick steps for setting mode:

  1. Pull out and reinsert one of the batteries, then allow the product to finish the self test/reset.
  2. Press/hold and release the mode switch. (Accessed through the pinhole on bottom of dome assembly)
  3. Quickly place the dome assembly on a flat surface.
  4. A series of 6 colors will appear, each color will pause for 3 seconds (giving you time to press the dome).
  5. When the color corresponding to the mode you want appears, press, and hold the dome until the dome changes to white. The color white tells you your mode selection is locked in.

* Note: to check if the mode is set as intended, follow “instructions for cycle count” and count the white flashes as described. The mode setting will remain Permanent until changed following the above instructions.

POTTYMISER® modes color/code:

  • Red         =    30 second)
  • green      = (60 second)
  • blue         = (90 second)
  • yellow     = (120 second)
  • magenta = (5 minute)
  • teal          = (15 minute)

self-test and reset

the self test and reset are the same to enter the self test/reset, pull any one battery out for 10 seconds; when the battery is reinserted the self test/reset will begin immediately

The POTTYMISER® has 2 valuable extra benefits.  Push the dome switch and do not flush until morning.  After some time push the dome again and listen to hear and see if the tank fills more water, if it does take more water, you know you are experiencing GHOSTING or a silent leak.  You will not need blue dye tests.  The POTTYMISER® can work like a dual-flush toilet by setting the minimum required to flush liquids.  If solids are needed the user needs to only understand they need to push the dome switch again and allow the toilet tank to fully fill before trying to flush the handle again.
