ShowerWizard Instruction Manual

SHOWERWIZARD, NEW MODE INSTRUCTIONS. For showerwizard without a pinhole on back side of unit.
FOR CHANGING TIME FROM 6, 8, 10, 12, AND 14 MINUTES PLUS THE 30 SECOND REPEATING MODE
1.The new software is accessed by pressing and holding the dome until you see white flashing. Now
release the dome and the mode colors will appear in this order: red, green, blue, yellow, magenta(purple),
teal. At the end of the sequence of colors if you have not chosen a new mode/time the dome will go
dark and the original time/mode will remain unchanged.

2.When the color matching the mode/time you want appears, “press and hold” the dome until it turns
solid white. You have now locked in your new mode/time.

For example: If you want a 6 minute cycle push when the red light appears, then hold until the dome
turns solid white.

Now the new mode is set for a 6 minute cycle. Don’t forget there is a lock down for five minutes
after the 6 minutes time has been used up and if you are running low on time push the pause dome for
up to 5 minutes.

Please see the administration instructions below on colors for the corresponding time cycles..

Installation (See diagram for additional detail)

1.) With the shower turned off, unscrew the existing shower head.

2.) Screw the SHOWERWIZARD® valve on to the shower arm.

3.) Reattach the shower head to the SHOWERWIZARD valve while holding the valve to prevent it from turning.   Do not over tighten.

4.) Before testing the SHOWERWIZARD® insert batteries under the back. As a self-test upon activation, the dome will flash red, green, blue, and the valve will close.

5.) Attach the dome assembly to the wall using the included white adhesive backed Velcro  strips or hang with a nail, pin, or screw. Position the dome assembly left or right of the shower arm, on the exit side of the shower stall.  Wrap Teflon tape on plumbing threads if any leak still appears or loose.  You may need a set of plyers but do not over tighten.

6.) Secure the valve’s power cord to the shower arm with the included black Velcro wrap (See diagram)

The SHOWERWIZARD® valve will be in the closed position and no water will be flowing from the showerhead until the water handles are opened and the SHOWERWIZARD® dome is pushed.

A few words about the SHOWERWIZARD and its operation:

The SHOWERWIZARD® operates on 4 AA batteries which should last over 12 months under normal use. As the batteries near the end of their life, a triple white flash from inside the SHOWERWIZARD will be noticeable when starting a shower cycle. Seeing the low battery light indication tells you it is time for new batteries. Should the batteries fall below the next preset minimum, the shower will not operate. A white flashing light will be seen until the batteries are replaced.

Extended instructions for Administrators:

Instructions for cycle count & mode indication

The cycle count feature gives the administrator a way to track if the product is being used correctly; it stores the number of times product has been activated. In addition to the cycle count, this function displays the present mode setting. To display the cycle count, press and hold the dome/button for 3 seconds and a color code will be displayed as a series of color-coded flashes (see color code below). Count the number of times each color flashes and then, using the color code you can decode the number. To know the present mode setting see *Note below.

3 quick steps for cycle count:

  1. The product must have the batteries installed, and be at rest, not mid cycle.
  2. Press and hold the dome/button for 3 seconds to start the cycle count readout.
  3. A series of color-coded flashes will begin, starting with the most significant digit. A different color represents each of 5 places for a count, up to 99,999 cycles. (Examples below)

Cycle count & mode color code:

  • 10,000's   Magenta.
  • 1,000’s     Yellow.
  • 100's        Blue.
  • 10's          Green.
  • 1's            Red.
  • Mode       White (from 1 to 6 flashes)

        Example (1)    1 blue, 3 green, 9 red & 4 white = 100 + 30 + 9 = 139 cycle count in mode 4 (12 minutes).

        Example (2)    1 yellow, 5 green, 3 red, & 1 white =1,053 cycle count in mode 1 (6 minutes).

        Example (3)    2 magenta, 5 yellow, 3 blue, 2 green, 9 red & 6 white =25,329 cycle count in mode 6 (30 seconds repeat).

        * Note: at the end of the color-coded flashes there will be 1 to 6 white flashes. The number of white flashes indicates what mode the product is set to; modes are discussed at “instructions for mode selection”.

FOR SHOWERWIZARD®

  • 1 white flashes = 6   minutes   mode (1)
  • 2 white flashes = 8   minutes   mode (2)
  • 3 white flashes = 10 minutes   mode (3)
  • 4 white flashes = 12 minutes   mode (4)
  • 5 white flashes = 14 minutes  mode (5)
  • 6 white flashes = 30 second repeat mode (6)

Instructions for mode selection:

The mode selection feature gives the administrator a way to change the shower cycle time to 1 of 6 settings.

*SHOWERWIZARD® modes are 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 minutes plus an unlimited “press & repeat” mode of 30 seconds.

The mode will already be set to the 8 minutes, “mode (2)”, no need to do anything unless you want more or less time.

*The mode switch has been intentionally hidden to prevent unauthorized access. To change the mode, you will need to locate the mode switch access hole on the bottom center of the dome assembly.  The mode switch can be pressed using a paperclip inserted straight up through the pinhole.  To set a mode you must press and hold the mode switch for 1 second; this will start a series of 6 color flashes. Red (1), green (2), blue (3), yellow (4), magenta (5), teal (6).

*Changing the mode is simple once you understand that there are 2 switches, the dome switch, and the mode switch. Both switches are required to change modes. Upon the press/hold and release of the mode switch a series of colors will flash; each color will appear and pause for 3 seconds. When the color corresponding to the mode you want appears, press the dome/switch. Once a mode is set, it’s permanent but may be changed at any time by the administrator.

     Quick steps for setting mode:

  1. Pull out and reinsert one of the batteries, then allow the product to finish the self test/reset.
  2. Press/hold and release the mode switch. (Accessed through the pinhole on bottom of dome assembly)
  3. Quickly place the dome assembly on a flat surface.
  4. A series of 6 colors will appear, each color will pause for 3 seconds (giving you time to press the dome).
  5. When the color corresponding to the mode you want appears, press, and hold the dome until the dome changes to white. The color white tells you your mode selection is locked in.

SHOWERWIZARD® modes/color code:

  • red          = (6 minute)
  • green      = (8 minute)
  • blue         = (10 minute)
  • yellow     = (12 minute)
  • magenta = (14 minute)
  • teal          = (30 second press/repeat)

* Note: to check if the mode is set as intended, follow “instructions for cycle count” and count the white flashes as described. The mode setting will remain Permanent until changed following the above instructions.

 self-test and reset

the self test and reset are the same to enter the self test/reset, pull any one battery out for 10 seconds; when the battery is reinserted the self test/reset will begin immediately

Shower tips and recommendations

*Our research shows everyone can complete a shower in 6 minutes.  We have provided a pause of up to 5 minutes; while paused, your remaining shower time will be saved.  Push the dome to pause (dome will flash blue) and then push again to resume.

*More time can be saved such as brushing teeth with the hot water in about 30 seconds (enough time to brush teeth), then turn off the sink and begin a shower.

*If you want unlimited time, set the time mode for the 30 second repeating mode; In this mode, keep pushing the dome switch every 30 seconds until you have used enough water.  This will add conscious usage of water and you will learn to use less water going forward.

*By taking a Navy Shower, rinse off, then push the dome switch to pause, lather with soap and shampoo, then rinse off.
